ZAMBEZI DISTRICT TO HAVE A THIRD TRADITIONAL CEREMONY

Chief Ishima of the Lunda speaking people is expected to launch his new traditional ceremony next year in Zambezi district.

The traditional ruler has told close sources that the ceremony will be held annually at his palace in Nyachipopa village.

He said, the Lundas in Zambezi district are losing their cultural practices and their is a need to revive the traditional ceremony of the Ishima chieftainship inorder to pass on the legacy to the younger generation.

The Lunda speaking people of Zambezi district have for a long time only had one traditional ceremony under Senior Chief Ishindi held every year at the  Mukandakunda palace.

The district will now have three traditional Ceremonies which include the Likumbi Lya Mize of the Luvale speaking people as well as the Lunda Lubanza and the new one to be held at chief Ishima's  palace.
