Zambia MMA fighter retains title against South African
It was a Southern African derby as
Rob 'the black tiger' Simbowe returned to the octagon in an intense battle with South Africa’s Given Majuba last evening to retain his extensive fighting champion EFC lightweight title.
With support from home fans and being on home ground, Majuba also known as the 'bone crusher' was left with no where to escape as the 'big cat' Simbowe hooked his paws onto his prey to beat him with a heal hook submission.
Simbowe who is a former street kid-turned fighter, went to his social media account to dedicate the win to his late mother and the entire nation.
“Glory be to God. This victory was a dedication to my late great mother, my team, my family, my friends and supporters and my nation Zambia."
"We have won for the motherland. This one was for you!!! Kale kale 🇿🇲” he wrote in his Facebook account.
Simbowe is the first Zambian fighter to win at a professional EFC fight.
